All family members welcome. Siblings and parents will have a chance to race their own cars on the track after the derby!

About the Pinewood Derby

The most anticipated event of the year.  Each scout receives a pinewood derby kit: a block of wood, 4 nails, and 4 plastic tires. Using his creativity, cutting tools and paint, a car is created. These cars then race down a track to the excitement and entertainment of all. The coordinators are responsible for the purchase and distribution of “cars”, set up and take down of pinewood derby track, starting the races, and keeping score. In addition, the coordinators judge cars for “Best Paint”, “Most Original”, etc.
