Dear Parent/Guardian,

Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 63 and congratulations. You and your Cub Scout’s decision to join will begin him on a path of Character Development, Citizenship Training and Mental and Physical Fitness. The experiences he gains in Cub Scouts will serve him for a lifetime.

I am sure you have a ton of questions. My hope is that this letter will start to answer some of those questions. As always if you have additional questions, concerns or needs please don’t hesitate to contact us at info@scoutpack63.org.

Your son will be lead by a Den Leader who has volunteered his/her time. But they can’t do it alone. The quality of your Scout’s experience will be determined by how well the three of you work together, a team of three. The Den Leader will plan the experiences and provide the resources, you will need to lead and help your Cub with his advancement assignments and projects, and he will need to do the work. Don’t worry you will have plenty of help. The important thing is that he does his best, not your best, his Den Leader’s best or a friend’s best, but his best.

Your Cub will be looking to you to join in his experience. Unlike their school environment where we adults are somewhat of outsiders with limited access to their daily learning experiences, here, you will have great opportunity to see his growth and development firsthand and share with him as he experiences many things for the first time.

I hope you are excited as I am for your future Cub Scout and I look forward to your help and commitment in the path ahead as we all work at having fun learning and practicing the ideals of Cub Scouting.

Our goal should be first, fun and second, learning, so let’s get started!

Registration, Forms: Be sure to enroll your child and pay his annual dues. If you have not already done so you can register at a Pack meeting, see our calendar for the next one. Our dues are kept to a minimum because of our annual Popcorn fundraiser event. For more information click here, Popcorn Sale. It is our one opportunity each year to generate income for the Pack. The funds are used to offset the costs of our outings, events and the Scouts’ advancement awards. I hope we can count on the both of you to help make this year a huge success.
